For young women's we were lucky enough to have a VIP tour of the Provo Airport! Jake was busy doing a group project for school so miss e got to tag along. Normally I cringe at the thought of taking Evelyn with me to young women activities but I was excited to take her and show her something she has never seen before. It's my favorite!
It's Provo, so the airport is pretty small but it was cool to actually go on the runway and see all the different planes and actually get in them. We also ran up to the air traffic control tower where they have the most spectacular views! Apparently it's the 5th largest building in Provo. After that we went over to the flight simulator they have to train the UVU students who are in the air flight program! They were so nice and let all of the young women try and fly it and land properly. Here are a couple of photos from our little tour.
^^This little one was so intrigued by the airplanes and had to inspect almost everything^^
^^Inside one of the two passenger airplanes, and yes I am wearing bright pink lipstick!^^
^^My view....sooo many buttons and gages^^
^^One of my little beehives holding hands with Evelyn. They all wanted to hold her hand!^^
^^Out on the catwalk. Evelyn was less than happy that I wouldn't let her just freely walk around the cat walk....needless to say we weren't up there very long!^^
^^That view!^^
^^Bye-bye airplanes! Hope to see you again soon!^^
I know I am a couple days late but besides that, here are some pictures of our Halloween! Jake and I threw our costumes together 10 min before his family's Halloween party (yikes!) Evelyn on the other hand had her costume since the summer thanks to grandma! I was Rosie the riveter, Jake was a cowboy, and miss e was the cutest little lady bug there ever was! Take a little for yourselves!

Both Jake and I were a little nervous for this day. Jake had been practicing throughout the week while holding Evelyn.....so cute! I was nervous because I wanted to do everything possible to make our little girl, a happy little girl during the blessing and not screaming through the whole thing. Our church started at 9:00 so I woke up extra early. We fed her, burped her extra good, got her dress and then all of the sudden she spit up all over her dress. I start to panic. Then one of her flowers on her headband I made started to come off. Seriously?! We cleaned her up and her dress, fixed her headband, headed to the church and prayed that she would be good.
Not a peep.
I was a proud mama!

If you were to ask me if I was bothered by needles my answer would be no. I have had my fair share of needles being poked and prodded into me. But after today....my answer would be, "I'm a wimp". Today was the dreaded shots appointment for Evelyn. There she was laying in her diaper on the examination table, warm, cute, chubby and cooing. Then the nurse grabbed three different syringes and poked each of them right into my heart. Obviously not really but my heart ached each time they poked my little girl. She screamed and screamed and as soon as the nurse left I picked up my little girl and cried with her. Yes I'm a wimp. And then we went home and praised whoever created infant Tylenol and my mom for bringing it over. I think I am going to take my little one, snuggle her and watch Downton Abbey the rest of the evening. It's been a rough day for both of us.
Just got an e-mail from TheBump.com announcing that they are partnering up with the Price is Right! Any expecting mommy can sign up for tickets (actually now it's a wait list for tickets) here and win fabulous prizes on Tuesday November 29th.
Anyone want to join me?!
Remember this? Well it's been another year and Megan and I got to celebrate our BMT (bone marrow transplant) birthday for the 9th year yesterday. It seems crazy that it was that long ago. We have both come a long way since then. I was looking back at all the pictures that were taken around that scary time for my family and it just boggles my mind how young we all were! Crazy that I am still alive and fulfilling so many things in my life right now. We celebrated it this year by going up to Park City and bowling here. I highly suggest you go there if you have not. So much fun! I won for the first time in my life (seriously....sad) with a score of 101. My dad and Jake were having a bit of an off day. We have also started a tradition (9 years ago) where my parents give each of us kids an ornament to put on our own tree when we are older. Jake and I totally forgot to pick up an ornament at Disneyland (also tradition) while we were there so they picked one up for us.
I love my family so much and am so grateful for this time when we can all be together for the holidays. Grateful for Megan and for this experience that brought us close together. I'm also very grateful for the chance Heavenly Father gave me to continue my journey in life. Hope you all have been enjoying this holiday season and hope you ate a lot of good food because I sure did!

Here is another journal entry from my time in the hospital that I would like to share from my dad.
Nov 21, 2001 11:16pm
"On my way to the hospital on Tuesday I heard a radio add for a new book called the Angel of Eleventh Avenue. I thought it was just a new little Christmas "feel good" book that I might enjoy reading with Heather so I asked Ruth to pick me a copy. We started reading it together and I was surprised to find out that it was about Primary's Children Hospital and a little girl who is 12 years old being treated for leukemia in 1966. Many of the emotions of the last two weeks came flooding back as I sat with Heather in her bed and read to her. More than once she had to take the book and continue reading when I couldn't continue. She would say "That's alright dad, let me read for a while". It helped us both pass the time as we waited for her first chemo treatment to begin. After they got her started with the Cytoxan we finished up the chapter we were on so Heather could try and get some sleep. Before she went to bed I asked her if she would like a fathers blessing to help her through the night. I am so grateful for the Priesthood at times like this when I feel so powerless on my own. As the tears were flowing from both of us during the blessing, Heather put her arm around me and held me tight. So much for me being strong for her. I hear her breathing getting heavy now, she is resting well...thank you."
You know those people who you know you were just meant to meet and have them be a part of your life? Heavenly Father has a funny way of placing certain people in your life when you need them. Well I believe that these two have been placed in my life for that reason. These two have been there during my first college years when you are on your own and sometimes feel alone, been there for my first real relationship and heart ache, first crush on a teacher, all shared the same creepy stalker, first talk in a singles ward, first time practically living in the library studying, first and certainly not the last CES fireside on marriage, first finals week....the list goes on and on. These two know me better than anyone else besides my family. I am so grateful to have met these two wonderful girls. They have always been there for me. I can't wait to live with them again up in Ogden as we continue with our medical careers!

My brain hurts. I'm so sick of studying ARDS, COPD, staphyloccus auresu, laryngotrachaeobronchitis, (say that one five times fast...) glomerulonephritis, and much more. I'm so glad I don't have any of those but man! This patho test I have to take Saturday. Then next week is when it gets hairy! I don't even want to talk about it.
Good news! After I take my patho test, a bunch of us are going to the Water Festival! Obviously we aren't going to Asia to take part in this event, but I am so excited! Drenching people in water and all you can eat Thai food....it's going to be awesome!
