Boy did 2013 go by quickly! I feel like as a child I was always wishing for time to move faster. Now that I'm older I find myself constantly wishing for time to slow down. 2013 definetly had its up's and down's (not to mention Evelyn getting croup and hand-foot-and mouth disease within the same month....) and I definitely learned to focus on the good things that happened throughout the week instead of the bad things.
Jake and I sat down together late last night and talked about our goals for 2014. Individual goals, family goals, and couple goals. One goal I have for myself is to make more time for me to develop my talents and to learn new ones. Being a mom, sometimes you loose yourself. Don't get me wrong, it's a great cause to loose yourself in helping build your own family but I sometimes forget that I am my own individual that needs to grow as well. I would like to wake up early before Evelyn does so I can have some stillness. So I can read some books I've been wanting to read. So I can write down my thoughts here more often. I struggle with waking up early every single day! I also want to read my scriptures more often.
I really want to immerse myself in Oregon when we move there. In case some of you didn't know, Jake graduates this April and has a job already set up in Oregon! We are so excited for this new adventure our little family is taking.
These are just a couple of goals I have for this year. I hope to be able to check off quite a lot off my bucket list this year and I have a feeling this year is going to be a great one!
