If you guys follow me on instagram you know that we just added a new addition to our family a couple of days ago! Jake and I have been talking about getting a dog for a while. Well Jake was getting more and more persistent about it and went out Monday morning with Evelyn and came back with a very cute golden retriever mix. We had several names picked out but Milo, (pronounced mee-lo) was Evelyn's favorite! It has been so fun to see Evelyn interact with Milo. She has always been a lover of animals. She had no problem stand next to my brother and sister-in-laws great dane when she was even younger!

But lets be real here. Having a puppy is a lot harder than I thought it was going to be. Mostly because I still have other little ones that I need to watch and take care of. The first day I wanted to cry. Training a puppy is like taking all the things you teach your kids over several years and teaching it to a puppy in a matter of a couple of weeks; aka potty training, no biting, gentle play, sleep training and so on! Jake and I have never been so exhausted! I am so behind on laundry, Evelyn and Aiden mostly just stay in their pajamas all day and I'm lucky enough to get my teeth brushed...forget doing my hair and makeup! 

However there is a silver lining in this post! Things have been going a lot smoother the past two days. Hardly any accidents, crate training is the bomb and Milo has been doing so good lately. It's funny how Milo has interacted with both of my kids in different ways. Aiden is his little baby and he is very protective over him and loves to just snuggle next to him. It's the cutest thing ever! Evelyn is Milo's mini boss. We've taught her well and Milo doesn't mess around with Evelyn. They do love to play together though and sometimes things can get a little nippy but we are working on it! So overall I really do love having a dog. And so do my kiddos.
